Purchasing & Sub-Contract Manager

Our client is a highly respected Blue Chip organisation with interests across both the Public and Private sectors working with industry leaders to deliver solutions and products that are fit for purpose.

Primary Purpose of Job

To contribute to the profitability/competitiveness of the company. Whilst co-located with a Business Unit or Integrated Project team in order to manage the purchasing requirements, for bids, projects or products to ensure that all purchasing and sub-contract packages are delivered on time, to budget and at the required quality.
Work with the Segment Purchasing organisation to ensure packages are effectively delivered to meet the Business' needs.

Key Duties:

Strategy
oAdherence to Chorus processes
oDraft and negotiate agreements - MOUs, SLAs, Teaming Agreements, Subcontracts, Inter Group Agreements etc.
oNegotiation of sub-contracts to support Project budget constraints and achieve timely performance whilst minimising programme risk and exploiting programme opportunities, including appropriate Customer flowdown.
oNegotiation of Intergroup Agreements (IGAs) as appropriate and subsequent management of inter Group Relationships, including control of budget creep and variance control within Competency Centres.
oManage the schedule and performance of allocated subcontracts, ensuring rigorous adherence to project management, quality and technical governance (may be achieved through cross functional team working)
oIdentification and mobilisation of internal support to sub-contracts from other departments.

Required Skills/Experience:

* Purchasing experience, specifically in an engineering development/sub-contract environment.
* The ability to think strategically, to develop and execute acquisition strategy and plans.
* Acute and mature negotiating skills
* Effective interpersonal, co-ordinating and organising skills.
* Risk and Project Management skills.
* Higher level business or engineering qualification - Minimum
* MCIPS and Degree qualified - Ideal
* High standards of Numeracy and Literacy are required in this role
