We are seeking 3 Purchasing Clerk for 2 year long contract position in Jacksonville, FL.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

- 2-3 years of related professional experience required. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred but will consider non-degreed candidates with equivalent professional experience.
- Corporate environment experience required, preferably in buying, pricing and analysis. Accounting experience may translate well.

General Responsibilities:

Compiles and maintains information and records to prepare purchase orders.
- Edits purchase requests and prepares purchase orders.
- Consults catalogs and other references to obtain prices and specifications.- Maintains files and records of materials, prices, inventories and deliveries.
- Applies standard formulas to calculate extensions and discount applications.

Contact vendors and suppliers directly for quotations, and follow up on outstanding purchase orders.
Working with internal customers (mill) for prompt issuance and expediting.
- This daily interaction with internal customers requires attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills and good conflict resolution skills.
- Savvy with detail; resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.

Customer service orientation; no formal customer service experience required but prefer a servant mentality.
Operates a personal computer and appropriate software packages or its equivalent. May perform other related clerical tasks. Works under general supervision.
