PS Core Engineer (SGSN/PS Core/GGSN/SPR/LIC/Solaris/Linux)

My client is looking for a PS Core Engineer to start immediately on a 3 month rolling contract to be based in Antwerp, Belgium. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, support and maintenance of mobile packet core systems. You will work closely together with the engineering department and other operational departments with the customers as well as with system suppliers.

Incident and Problem Management (2nd Level Support, cooperation with vendors)

Coordinating with other section of engineering and related teams of planned events, planning and execution of modifications and upgrades

Optimization activities (eg developing monitoring scripts or tools for the GNOC)

Perform daily system health checks to ensure system is fault free and performing without any performance problems

Preventive maintenance to ensure and improve reliable operation.

Must take the initiative, be flexible, and a teamplayer. On-call 24x7 rota.

Good knowledge of systems architecture and operation of a mobile network.

Operational knowledge in PS-Core Systems such as: SGSN, GGSN, PCRF, CG, LIC, MME, SAGW, PCRF

In-depth knowledge of the structure of IP Networks and LAN networks.

In-depth knowledge of interpretation of IP - Packet Core protocols (GTP, Radius, Diameter, Sigtran)

In-depth knowledge of Unix (eg Solaris, HPUX, Linux)

Fluent efficienty in the English language.
