Project Planning Engineer - 12 month contract - Middlesex - competitive rates

Our client, a Global Oil and Gas company are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Planning Engineer to join their busy team. This role, based in North West London offers excellent opportunity to be responsible for developing project schedules through the appraisal, selection, define & execute phases. In addition, you will monitor and advise on progress and schedule impacts, advise project management on schedule status and assist in decision making relating to schedule issues. You will also liaise and coordinate with execution contractors, Asset planning team & Stakeholders

Key responsibilities:

Develop project schedules and histograms through all stages - Appraisal, Selection, Define & Execution.
Assist the project team to analyse schedules from main contractors and identify critical and high risk areas.
Coordinate with the STE Asset planning team(s) to allow effective execution of offshore scopes.
Report on progress of main contractors and analyse any shortfalls and advise of schedule impacts.
Participate in planning risk sessions.
Assist Planning Lead with ad hoc planning exercises

Essential skills

Detailed working knowledge and abilities in Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project
Identify relevant courses and competencies
Prefer HNC or equivalent or relevant degree. Demonstration of relevant experience with contactable referees will be accepted.
Extensive experience as a planner in the north sea Oil & Gas Industry
Experience in both Topsides and Subsea preferred, but not essential
Detailed working knowledge and abilities in Primavera P6 & Microsoft Project essential
Abilities to convert plans from one system to the other in the items described above
Be able to deliver precedence networks and demonstrate abilities to logic link activities
Good abilities in resource planning
