PROJECT MARKETING/COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER - DIGITAL

Contract. Paisley. 9 months +. £175 - £200 per day

One of our clients has an urgent requirement for a Project Marketing/Communications Officer. They are about to embark on an ambitious and far-reaching programme to transform the digital services offered to their customers

At the heart of the programme will be a new online customer portal giving people the ability to access a wide range of services at the time and manner of their choosing.

This is an ambitious project looking to make major achievements in a short period of time and they are looking for someone who is similarly ambitious.

They are looking for an experienced digital marketing and communications professional who will ensure that the public buys into the new customer portal and signs up in significant numbers for an account.

You will have an excellent knowledge of the marketing and promotion of digital services and a demonstrable track record in delivering major marketing campaigns. You will be an effective communicator, comfortable working with senior managers across a diverse organisation, and have the vision and drive to promote the new portal internally and externally to ensure its successful implementation.

ROLE OUTLINE

This individual will develop and implement a communications and marketing strategy promoting uptake of company's digital service offering

Key elements of the role include, but not limited to:-

- Lead the development, delivery and ongoing evaluation of a communications and marketing strategy for digital services
- Provide a customer segmentation model which clearly identifies, segments and targets all local stakeholder groups with appropriate promotional messages
- Integrate the communications and marketing strategy with the company's wider cultural, economic and social regeneration communications strategy
- Liaise with the Digital Assistance Project Manager to ensure that the communications and marketing strategy is integrated with the company's wider digital strategy
- Prepare, submit and present reports to the Customer Access Project Board, the corporate management team and other relevant meetings as required
- Lead the development of a brand and visual identity for the new customer portal
- Ensures appropriate links are made between the customer portal, the new-build company website and other websites operated across the organisation
- Work within the corporate communications to link with the media and promote the customer portal via media channels
- Manage digital communication channels including social media as agreed/required
- Measure and evaluate the update of the Customer Portal and adjust promotional activities accordingly to ensure maximum sign up and customer use.

PERSON SPECIFICATION - ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

- Relevant degree or equivalent marketing/communications qualification
- Experience in leading and delivering communications, marketing, media/public relations, digital media and social media
- Exceptional communications, presentation and analytical skills with highly developed report writing and presentation skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and flexible in approach
- Innovative and creative thinker, particularly in devising digital solutions to communications challenges
- Excellent overall ICT skills
- A strategic thinker with a clear and focussed judgement
- Able to demonstrate vision and drive
- Creative and innovative, able to exercise initiative and work well without supervision
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, confident and persuasive
- Experience in developing and building relationships with influential stakeholders
- Able to initiate and project manage workload effectively

PERSON SPECIFICATION - DESIRABLE CRITERIA

- Post graduate degree or professional/equivalent training
- Experience of successfully marketing digital services
- Previous relevant experience in a local authority or similar diverse organisation
- Sound knowledge and understanding of current policy issues and developments affecting local government and the wider public sector environment
- A demonstrable understanding of the Digital by Default and Digital Inclusion agendas in local government
- A demonstrable understanding of the imperatives and challenges inherent in a "channel shift" agenda
- Awareness and sensitivity to the public sector/partnership environment.
