Title: Project Manager - Telecom

Location: Kansas City, KS

Our client in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Project Manager - Telecom for an exciting opportunity. As a Project Manager II you will be responsible for engineering and building out the next generation of wireless access networks. As a Project Manager - Telecom for Wireless Deployment, you plan and oversee the deployment of outdoor wireless networks. The ideal candidate has expertise in wireless network deployment, vendor management, outside plant construction and site development. You will be a top performer who quickly adapts and responds to industry changes as well as internal initiatives, and someone who thrives in an ever-changing, fast-growing technical environment. You will have operational savvy, a get it done' personality, the ability to make smart, independent decisions and the willingness and capability to manage deliverables across teams/priorities. This position is based in Kansas City, KS but may be responsible for projects in the greater Midwestern U.S. 20-40% travel is required.

Responsibilities
Create RFPs
Create all project plans for all WiFi deployments
Manage the full life cycle of turnkey wireless networks (conception through deployment)
Manage inventory of all equipment and materials
Engage with and manage all vendors
Visit construction & deployment sites as needed
Assist in the development and implementation of project management best practices
Create reports and update stakeholders of progress periodically
Resolve all issues and mitigate risks

Minimum qualifications
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
4 years of project management experience in wireless communication infrastructure projects
4 years' experience managing external vendors
4 years' experience with working in cross-functional work environments
Be willing to travel weekly

Preferred qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
General understanding of globally accepted project management and accounting principles
Basic understanding of Six Sigma process improvement techniques
Team player with interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
