A highly-regarded Federal Government department is seeking an experienced PROJECT MANAGER for their Canberra office. This is to be working across the department and you will co-ordinate the delivery of project outcomes, towards the achievement of strategic plans. This is a contract that will initially be 6 months with an option to extend an additional 24 months.

Your responsibilities will include (but won't be limited to) the following:

- Plan and monitor the project in accordance with the Prince2 methodology
- Agree the technical, risk and quality strategy with the project sponsor and Projects Board
- Define level and content required of the Project Initiation Documents, produce or oversee production of the documents, and agree content with the Project Sponsor
- Liaise with the Project Sponsor and Project Assurance roles to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project
- Support learning and development requirements of the Project team

To be successful, you will need to possess the following:

- Demonstrated success in the delivery of projects
- Industry recognised senior project management certification held for a minimum period of 5 years or equivalent experience in delivery of projects
- A demonstrated knowledge of Commonwealth Financial Accounting and Procurement practices, particularly an understanding of the definition of operating and capital expenditure;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people in a team environment in an equitable, participative and consultative manner to achieve organisational outcomes;
- Demonstrated experience in integrating project deliverables, including new processes and practices, into an existing or new business model/culture;
