One of Canberra's largest Federal Government Departments wishes to engage the services of a PROJECT MANAGER with sound experience in managing ICT software development projects. The successful applicant will be joining their IT team in Canberra for an initial 9 month contract with the view to extend up to 1 year.

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

- Lead one or more allocated projects to deliver project outputs in accordance with the program schedule, budget, and quality standards
- Undertake and manage project scope, planning, reporting and control activities as part of the wider program effort
- Create and maintain project documentation in accordance with program requirements and the department's methodologies (based on MSP, Systems Engineering and Prince2)
- Manage project risks and resolve project issues
- Attend project meetings with the project teams and client, (ranging from formal project board meetings to informal ad-hoc discussions) and Liaise with the Project Management Office and change management groups in respect to creating project-related change requests

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria;

- Demonstrated experience managing, planning, and executing Information Technology software development projects or components of major ICT Programs (5+ years)
- Demonstrated understanding and accreditation of Prince2 and or other Project Management methodologies
- Demonstrated understanding of the Systems Engineering Life Cycle and Software Development Lifecycle
- Experienced in managing project finances in the Australian Public Service and Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Proven ability to engage with stakeholders
