Project Manager - Engineering - Contract

Project Manager - CONTRACT - Design/Manufacturing/Installation/Commissioning

Duration: Initially 3-6 months

Location: West Midlands

My exclusive client urgently requires the services of an additional Contract Project Manager to take full responsibility for managing multiple projects in conjunction with the nominated project team.

*Ideally the Project Manager will have experience of projects dealing with the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of MCC panels in an industrial environment but this is not a necessity.

The role is challenging and is suited to a Project Manager with a strong personality who is methodical and possesses excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. The Project Manager would work well under pressure and be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised in an open office environment.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering background and/or experience working in the Oil, Gas, Industrial, water and electricity market sectors.

Experience required:
* Solid experience of delivering Projects in the Engineering sector
* Execution of assigned projects within margin targets and agreed schedule
* Managing and reporting all financial aspects of assigned projects
* Successful negotiation of engineering changes with customers
* Conversant with MS Project and all MS Office software products Excel, Access, Word, etc.
* Familiarity with general contractual Terms and Conditions

Desirable experience (not essential):
* Ideally Project Management experience of projectsdealing with the design, manufacture, installation & commissioning of Electrical products
* Managing single projects >£1M or managing up to 5 smaller projects at once
* Using structured project management methodologies such as Prince 2.
* Applying complex and advanced project management and scheduling techniques
* Experience in Managing and negotiating Subcontracts
