Project Manager

JOB PURPOSE

To manage the delivery of one or more projects, ensuring sound project management processes and controls are in place in order to deliver the project(s) to time, budget and benefit realisation.

Provide clear direction, effective leadership and support to the project team; develop a leadership style and culture which encourages and motivates the team to deliver the project.
Continuously champion ways for our client to improve ways of working. Lead on the development of improvement initiatives as agreed with the Head of BP&I.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.Assemble, manage, monitor and motivate the cross functional team assigned to the projects. Set clear expectations of all individuals, discussing performance on a regular basis to create a culture of excellence in project delivery.

2.Work closely with the business and develop effective working relationships in order to understand business needs.

3.Define deliverables, resource requirements and workplans for the project, paying particular attention to risks, dependencies and benefits.

4.Manage the budget and resources allocated to the project, ensuring value for money.
5.Monitor and report on project progress, problems and solutions.

6.Manage changes to the project, including the necessary approvals, ensuring any implications are clearly understood and communicated.

7.Manage the quality of the project, ensuring that the agreed benefits are, or can be, realised.

8.Provide advice and coaching/mentoring in project management to others.

9.Work with the Head of BP&I to identify areas for improvement in project management and wider business initiatives.
