My client, a leading automotive manufacturer based in Warwickshire, is looking to recruit a Project Manager - CAD Design for their Powertrain division on a long term contract basis.

Position:Project Manager - CAD Design

Position Description:
Primary responsibility is to Project Manage & implement design solutions within the Powertrain APC CAD Packaging team with respect to the installation of North South engines into both existing & future platforms. Role will involve circa 20%-30% of time liaising with other Powertrain/Chassis & Body engineering teams and circa 70%-80% CAD engineering. Hardware responsibilities include Base Engines, Transmission & Driveline. Interfacing with the Vehicle Package teams across Gaydon & Whitley sites will be a significant part of the role. Expected outcome - maximise synergies enabling cross carline installations solutions & generation of concept design hardware of Powertrain Systems (ie - exhaust, fuels, cooling, air intake) hardware.

Skills Required:
CATIA V5. Familiarity with vehicle installation requirements & powertrain functionality are essential. Proven ability to work with cross functional teams with opposing views/requirements is required. Good team co-ordination & communication skills are essential.

Skills Preferred:
Ability to work with minimum supervision in a pre program phase with changing assumptions/demands under very tight timelines. Prior experience/use of Teamcentre is a significant benefit.

Experience Required:
Experience of new model programs packaging & delivery across multiple platforms.

Experience Preferred:
Knowledge of vehicle manufacturing process is advantageous but not essential.

Education Preferred:
Degree preferred but not mandatory

Additional Information:
The APC team are based at Gaydon, however interaction with teams on the Whitley may require visitations to Whitley.
