Project Manager - Brussels - Contract

PROJECT MANAGER REQUIRED IN BRUSSELS FOR A 12 MONTH + CONTRACT.
JOB:
- Manages a project from initiation to implementation ensuring that it meets the business objectives, makes effective and efficient use of resources, and completes within the agreed budget, scope and timescale.
- Leads and manages the project team, with the authority and responsibility to run the project on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensures project scope is well defined, risks have been identified and mitigated, resources have been identified, and preparatory work has been completed.
- Tracks project costs against budget and ensures project benefits can be realized.
- Manages risks and issues throughout the life of the project. Plans and takes mitigating action when necessary and escalates them as appropriate.
- Designs and manages a realistic project plan, revising forecasts where necessary.
- Organises meetings and workshops.
- Manages project stakeholders from team members through to senior managers making sure there is buy-in, minimising road-blocks, and ensuring continued commitment.
COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor degree.
- Minimum 5 year's experience as a Project Manager within a complex business transformation environment, preferably within the insurance industry or at least within financial services, with a track record of successfully delivering projects.
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects, including risk management; budgeting and resource management.
- Experienced in structured project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life cycle (eg PMI or PRINCE).
- Good knowledge of change management principles and methodologies with experience in role, process and systems transformations.
- IT literate and a competent user of Microsoft Office tools specifically: PowerPoint and Excel for project reporting. Experience of other project management tools (eg Microsoft Project).
- Process modelling tools (eg Visio) and any resource or financial planning tools.
DESIRABLE:
experience in process improvement methodologies, such as Lean and Six Sigma, leading process improvement projects in Operation and experience in BPO or off-shoring.
DOMAIN: Financial (Insurance)
LANGUAGES: English (Fluent), Dutch OR French (Fluent)
LOCATION: Brussels, with travels to branch offices and London
DURATION : 12 months +

RATE: €425 per day
