PROJECT MANAGER - BA/PM HYBRID - DERIVATIVES - BUSINESS CHANGE - INVESTMENT BANK

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Project Manager should be comfortable managing a portfolio of small, rapid delivery projects having timelines ranging from 1 to 6 months in duration.  The role is to manage a collection of these small, rapid, Front Office business focused projects and do whatever is required to ensure they get delivered.  Requirements may change on a weekly basis.  This is not a Waterfall methodology approach but a rapid iterative Agile style approach with progress tightly tracked on a weekly basis.

Working directly with the business: Front Office Sales. Legal. Compliance. Traders.

This is a hands-on role and a Hybrid Project Manager/Business Analyst will be considered (provided they are Business focused and not IT/Systems focused).

The types of Business products, processes and risks being looked at include the following:

- Products:  Interest Rate Derivatives, FX Derivatives, FX Spots, FX Forwards
- Processes:  Client Onboarding, Pre-Sales, Documentation, Payments, Risk & Controls, Other
- Risk Types:  Regulatory Risk, Operational Risk, Market Risk

CORE SKILLS

An indicative sample of the types of business mini-projects being worked on includes the following:

- MiFID client classification and Terms of Business repapering of 8000 clients.
- Mapping end to end Pre-Sales Processes
- Surveying client documentation against regulatory requirements
- Rolling out a newly designed product to Real Estate clients
- Reviewing FX Derivatives processes for Regulatory Risk, Market Risk and Operational Risk issues
- Understanding issues around Sales process hand-off points between different clusters (ie Corporate to Investment Bank, Wealth to Investment Bank, etc.)
- Reviewing sales processes across European countries for regulatory, operational and market risk issues
- Working closely with Legal and Compliance on designing new Terms of Business
- Managing Risk and Control Assessment mapping processes
- And many more business related projects

KEY SKILLS

- Have a great, positive attitude and be a team player
- Not be afraid to roll up one's sleeves and actually do some of the work as well as manage it
- Able to cope with a fast paced investment banking environment occasionally having longish hours
- To be willing to do whatever is required to successfully deliver, on time, every time
- Comfortable producing high level Milestone Tracking Plans in Excel and/or PowerPoint
- Needs to be an expert in PowerPoint for senior management presentation skills (professional, corporate looking PowerPoint packs)
- Able to work with Front Office sales people and traders.  The role will sit right on the trading floor.
- You need to be an excellent communicator
- Must be deeply familiar with RAID logs, Project Planning, Stakeholder Management and all the things a hands-on PM would normally do.
