PROJECT MANAGERS - UTILITIES - WATER, WASTEWATER AND FLOODING - CONTRACT - 3 - 6 MONTHS - SCOTTISH CENTRAL BELT - £250 - 300 PER DAY - JA/REQ/030719

Experienced Project Managers required on a high profile project in the flooding team of a major utilities client. Candidates need to be experienced Project Managers with a background in water, wastewater, flooding, construction or engineering industries.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:

- Responsible for managing the delivery of projects and discrete programmes of work as allocated by SPM.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports to include but not limited to current status of; out-turn costs, milestone completion dates and timely resource demands.
- Developing, establishing and maintaining a project culture that meets the objectives of the company's vision of being trusted to serve Scotland and in particular matters including Health and Safety, cost control, and the customer.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers and service providers. Such as SEPA, local councils and the general public etc. and Internal Customers such as CSD, SCSP, PPM etc.
- Contribute and lead initiatives to improve cross function engagement and collaboration in line with the company Vision and Managed Delivery business plan.
- To ensure process compliance in relation to governance, NRSWA, CDM, Sewerage (Scotland) Act, Water (Scotland) Act, Sewers for Scotland, Water for Scotland, Health and Safety at Work Act, Hygiene Code of Practice and DOMS and Environmental legislative requirements etc. to ensure Project targets are met and desired outcomes delivered.
- Contribute to improvement in Project Management processes (best practice) and systems in Managed Delivery
- Be instrumental in the professional & effective management of the process whereby projects are designed, constructed, commissioned & handed over to the Client organisation in compliance with,
- agreed commercial criteria
- milestone dates including contract commencement and completion dates
- recognised water industry quality standards
- best practice project management

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

- Good knowledge and understanding of Water Industry standards and specification.
- Good knowledge of water and wastewater non-infrastructure design.
- Project management qualification/s such as APMP (MAPM), Prince 2 etc.
- The candidate must be able to demonstrate the successful management and delivery of projects. Water industry experience preferred.
- A thorough understanding of the statutory Health and Safety regulations including CDM as they apply to the water industry. Previous satisfactory implementation of Health and Safety regulations must be demonstrated.
- Knowledge and understanding of integrated computerised Reporting Systems. To include Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P3, cost management systems and e mail correspondence systems.
- A sound understanding of the application of Engineering Forms of contract including NEC/2 (Desirable).
- The role holder is responsible for managing their own work and time, and prioritising their tasks.
- Mainly office based. The role does require, however, frequent site visits. All necessary PPA should be worn and site rules followed.
- Driving License.
