Project Manager

A midsize Minnesota Medical Device company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Manufacturing Operations for a 12 month contract opportunity. The Project manager will implement manufacturing strategies and methods to help increase efficient production of the company's orthopedic devices. The Project manager will be expected to utilize Lean manufacturing and other methods to reduce cost and improve quality of the product.

Responsibilities:

* Use the computer systems Pro-Engineering to improve the design of new and existing products.
* Work cross functionally with other teams to contribute to manufacturing models and determine needs for a new or revised device
* Communicate with outside vendors during the development and delivery of new products. (Product or Systems Engineering experience is a plus)
* Ensure that the product goals are met: including cost, quality, on time completions are fulfilled.

* Develop system requirements to improve quality and productivity
* Independently identify technologies and systems that will meet Quality, Capacity and Productivity needs of the project
* Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop automation concepts.
* Work cross functionally to clearly author User Requirements Specifications with input from others.
* Identify possible equipment suppliers and analyze proposals
* Interface with equipment supplier throughout the manufacturing process
* Coordinate the installation of equipment
* Heavily participate in product validation processes
* Compose and validate multiple inspection requirements to effectively meet regulations and standards

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in engineering (Masters degree is preferred) (Mechanical/Packaging/Industrial/etc)

* 7+ years experience in a technical manufacturing environment
* 6+ years experience in the medical device industry
* Management experience in overseeing multi-task projects.
* Strong knowledge of current FDA regulations, GMPs, and ISO standards
* Strong presentation, writing, and communication abilities
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Expertise in Lean/Six Sigma

* Experience with management of large scale automation projects
* Experience utilizing CAD systems (PRO-E)
* Ability to develop and perform validation protocols
