Project Management Methodology Specialist Job

PROJECT MANAGEMENT METHODOLOGY SPECIALIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Walnut Creek, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Partner with PMPEO team members as well as key stakeholders (eg internal audit, compliance, IT) to design, update/maintain and implement effective program/project management methodologies by reviewing and understanding agreed to objectives; design required controls and develop methodology components such as templates, processes, tools, standards and other materials.
- Ensure program/project methodologies represent industry best practices and integrate/align effectively with other processes - especially the IT system development life cycle.
- Identify methodology stakeholders across the company at all levels and build and maintain effective relationships.
- Administer methodology changes by tracking requests, tracking status and reporting on status. Develop plans and materials (eg communication plan, user documentation and training materials) to communicate methodology or systems changes. Measure and monitor success of processes following implementation. Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to streamline methodologies.
- Drive methodology adoption by coaching and mentoring Program/Project Managers, providing support to enable proper utilization of processes and tools, and monitoring and encouraging compliance with all aspects of PPM framework, policies and best practices.
- Leverage advanced knowledge and skills to design and deliver a methodology learning curriculum to include new-hire onboarding, network learning workshops, skill or process-specific training, etc.
- Draw on prior experience and external knowledge sources to provide guidance and direction to Program/Project Managers for unique or new situations that are not covered by standard practices or guidelines.
- Support the work of PMPEO team members by reviewing work product or assisting in development of work product and providing input as required.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- Bachelor's degree in business, information systems or related disciplines.
- Five (5) plus years related experience with program/project management principles and methodologies obtained by leading/supporting complex projects.
- Five (5) plus years related program/project delivery experience, preferably in a large organization.
- Must demonstrate extensive expertise with both agile and waterfall project delivery as well as experience with other project methodology frameworks.
- Expertise with common system development approaches (SDLC) and the relationship to program/project methodologies.
- Proven ability to design and deliver both formal and informal training on program/project delivery processes, deliverables, and best practices including facilitation of workshops/brown bags and creating user documentation and other training materials.
- Demonstrated ability to field methodology improvement requests from a variety of stakeholders, effectively prioritize them, publish a plan for delivery, and coordinate team members to complete work assignments with limited direction.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to tailor presentation materials to all audiences regardless of expertise or job level.
- Cultural adaptability. Virtual and remote team management ability. Independent and innovative spirit. Flexible and responsive to input.
- Familiarity with project management software (eg Microsoft Project).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio and/or IBM Blueworks Live.
- TRAVEL OF UP TO 15% MAY BE REQUIRED.

Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:

- Industry project management credentials (eg PMP) are desirable but not required.
- Experience working in large environments.
