Project (Hyper Mesh) Engineer

I am looking to hire PROJECT (HYPER MESH) ENGINEER for one of my Public Sector Client. Please read the below job Specification.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

The Physical Protection Group within Platform Systems Division carry out research and development into current and future protection systems for a number of platforms across the Land, Sea and Air domains

The Structural Dynamics Team, which is part of the Physical Protection Group (PPG), requires a proficient Hypermesh user to generate complex meshes and run them within explicit finite element analysis. The overall aim of the team is to support MOD and wider Government in their understanding of blast and fragmentation effects on a variety of platforms and environments. The day to day work will be carried out within an office environment with a number of other staff and will be directed by the Capability & Technical Lead and the Team Leader. A variety of projects will require support with some classed as Urgent Operational Requirements or project support tasks for DE&S and government departments

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support the SD team in producing complex meshes
- Support other team members in mesh generation
- Provide adhoc advice and technical support to projects across the ground

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Minimum 3 years' experience in producing complex meshes for finite element modelling
- Experience of Hypermesh and numerical simulation using LS-Dyna
- Understand the dynamic response of materials at high strain rates
- Experience within the field of Blasts, Ballistics and dynamic events.
- Formal Qualifications Required
- Engineering or Physics degree.
