Project Financial Officer

This is a great opportunity to join a large ERP/SAP Program in a 12 month contract as the Project Financial Officer where you will be responsible for all financial monitoring and cost control aspects of the program, including understanding and monitoring of expenditure to budgets, ensuring compliance with public sector accounting and financial management practices and standards.

The Project Financial Officer will:

- Forecast and manage the ERP Program budget and generate reporting on overall program financial performance on a monthly and ad hoc basis
- Track costs, control, review and analyse the program's expenditure in order to optimise the utilisation of financial resources whilst meeting the overall goals and objectives of the program.
- Manage payment approvals and associated debtor processes and manage central programs accounts.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information as requested by the Program Director and PMO.

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

- Demonstrated record of achievement in budget development, management and reporting, financial management and accounting at senior management level and in a large and complex program delivery environment
- Experience with financial management and accounting applications and skilled in use of MS Office.
- Extensive experience in financial analysis including review and analysis of capital and other major projects in a diverse environment in Government.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of best practices in accounting and financial management along with current knowledge of Government finance policies, systems, procedures, accounting standards and relevant legislation.
