Project Engineering Manager

Project Engineering Manager - 6 month contract - Up to £47 per hour

Job Description
The Engineering Manager will lead and manage a motivated multi-discipline project engineering team through the development life cycle with a strong emphasis on time, cost control, quality and process adherence.

Maintain a strong and open relationship with the project stakeholders to understand the technical requirements and report monthly on project progress against requirements, delegated budget and critical engineering milestones.

- Overall responsibility for engineering outcomes
- Project Engineering Management and Control
- Project Mobilisation, Execution and Control against baseline schedule and strategies
- Generate and maintain Engineering Management Plans
- Define and tailor engineering strategy appropriately
- Generate, maintain and track a project schedule
- Earned Value Management
- Engineering task management
- Financial control and reporting against baseline budgets
- Report progress monthly to IPT leads and Engineering Vice President
- Engineering Process and Life Cycle Management (LCM) Adherence
- Engineering Risk and Opportunities Management
- Resource Management
- Generate engineering resource forward load/demand
- Liaison with project stakeholders (internal and external)
- Supporting customer and supplier interactions, generally lead by the Project Manager as appropriate.

Essential experience required:
- Practical experience in the successful execution and delivery of a complete 'through-life' engineering development
- Practical experience of developing costed engineering solutions into customer Bids and proposals
- Experience in leading a multi-discipline engineering team
- Experience of using Microsoft Project to plan and track developments
- Risk and Opportunity Management
- Financial control

Desired experience required:
- A technical background in engineering and communication systems
- Practical experience of managing engineering programmes using SAP
