Project Engineer - Kettering - 35K

I am currently working with a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality leather and textile interior trim components to the automotive and associated industries. They have become the centre of excellence for automotive leather interior trim in theUnited Kingdomwhilst developing into the rail and passenger aircraft industries. They require a Lead Engineer who is responsible for all technical aspects of the projects. On smaller projects is expected to lead including all aspects of project management. On larger projects there will be a Program Manager who the project engineer will support. The product engineer is expected to determine and drive the most appropriate solution via the APQP / NPI process. He / she are responsible for driving the product development and commercialisation. Please see below the desired skill set: * Minimum of two years relevant manufacturing experience essential, preferably with a 1st or 2nd tier automotive supplier. * Experience and knowledge of APQP approach and tools e.g. PPAP, PFMEA - essential. * Experience of jig/tool design, manufacture and management of outsourcing to sub-contactors - desirable. * Experience of working with adhesive bonding systems - desirable * Experience of working with interior trim - desirable. * Experience of paint or adhesive spraying - desirable. * Experience of working with the manufacture of leather wrapped products - desirable * Understanding of process improvement tools and techniques - desirable.
