Project Engineer Job

PROJECT ENGINEER needed for a long term CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Alvin, TX.

THE BIG PICTURE:

Position is located at a client site large industrial chemical facility. Size of projects range from $50,000 to $3,000,000. The company maintains an engineering team at the site. The site is tobacco and smoke free.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Lead all disciplines of the project team in execution of a project.
- Establish and execute procedures according to good project engineering practices including establishing the project team, establishing and communicating project objectives, Front End loading, value engineering, detailed engineering execution, constructability, and safety.
- Responsible for project schedule; makes decisions to adjust and compensate for changes in the schedule.
- Ensures the project estimate is complete and accurate; manages project-engineering budget. Responsible for forecasting quantity changes and growth during the detailed engineering design.
- Serves as main point of contact for the company with the client (both engineering and operations).
- Establishes communication plans, execution plans for the project and meeting frequency.
- Capable of field work as needed to collect and verify data.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Technical Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience interfacing with customers/clients.
- General knowledge of discipline deliverables and technical information from all disciplines.
- Understanding of project execution and all project phases including Front End loading, detailed engineering, and construction.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Projects.
