My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in Warwickshire, is looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join their Engineering Technical Services division on a long-term contract basis.

Role: The Prototype BIW Parts Supply Engineer

Position Description:
The Prototype BIW Parts Supply Engineer function within this department is responsible for scheduling the manufacture and supply of parts to support early prototype vehicle builds at multiple locations and will report directly the Prototype BIW Project Manager.
Create and manage parts matrices to ensure parts are available in time for build start date.
Liaise with Proto Package/Design Engineers to prioritise data release.
Interface with panel suppliers - with respect to quality, timing and modification control.
Change management (where part levels are updated).
Ensure parts are submitted for inclusion on BOM.
Raise PBMs for parts (where design is completed after BOM submission).
Represent Prototype BIW in parts shortages meetings.
Support builds onsite including attending daily startup and wash-up meetings as required.

Key Skills Required:
Experience of sheet metal prototype manufacture.
Project management skills.
Excellent communication skills.

Experience Required:
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, pro-active, demonstrates initiative, with ability to work independently. Excellent prototype manufacture methodologies knowledge.
Good project management skills, thorough and logical approach to issues, good attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, PC literate, especially MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Capable of representing Prototype Ops. in meetings at all levels with confidence and credibility.
Flexible with respect to travel (Gaydon, Whitley, Solihull, Browns Lane, Castle Bromwich).
Full driving license.

Experience Preferred:
Automotive BIW experience required

Additional Information :
This role will require regular travel between both Gaydon and Whitley sites.
