OUTSOURCE UK Ltd is actively seeking to recruit a Project Engineer for a contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The purpose of the Project Engineer role is to be responsible for the provision of a professional and proactive project management and project planning/control/business support service to the team or contract project control manager and other staff as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Ensuring that CAM scope of work is defined and maintained in conjunction with the relevant projects
Creating, issuing and controlling schedules in line with a defined statement of work and a predefined set of standards for a given project
Working with CAMs and Engineering teams to ensure that schedule logic appropriately represents the plan to complete the required work
Supporting the CAM in defining and managing the resources required to achieve the project scope of work
Ensuring that schedules are integrated horizontally and vertically and are aligned with cost data
Collecting and reporting of status of work in progress in line with published time scales
Reviewing project performance, including out-turn predictions based on trend analysis and identification and management of corrective actions
Identifying potential schedule problems and providing assistance to management in resolving problems;
Supporting the identification, definition and assessment of risks and the development of risk mitigation plans
Analysing risk impacts on schedules and generating three point schedule out-turn analyses;
Supporting the CAM in developing a quarterly forecast for each project
Managing project change through a formal Baseline Change Process

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
Experience of practical project management including planning, schedule management, cost management, risk management and management reporting within a complex multi-function project environment
Well developed understanding of scheduling principles, concepts, practices and standards together with experience of formal scheduling toolsets such as Microsoft Project, Open Plan or equivalents
Knowledge and experience of Earned Value Management and the use of the project schedule within the context of an EVMS is highly desirable along with experience of applying risk management processes
