Project Engineer

A global pharmaceutical organisation requires a Project Engineer with process or mechanical background for a 12 month contract position based in Germany

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - GENERAL :

- Responsibility for the delivery of a coordinated and agreed Detailed Design for the project.
- Reviews the mechanical design documents for quality and consistency prior to publication and overview the review of design documents for other disciplines
- Execute field surveys
- Prepares work package for March 2013 shutdown scope (Pipe bridge rerouting and process and utilities tie-ins) and work with the project manager and procurement manager to develop contractual agreement(s) with contractor(s)
- Coordinate detail design for the acetone recovery
- Overall responsibility for the timely delivery of the issue for construction design deliverables and equipment procurement specifications.
- Supports to implement an agreed Construction strategy and follows up on progress, quality and safety of the (mechanical) works during construction
- Supports the commissioning activities
- Leads the internal Abbott focus team
- Direct issues relative to discipline priorities and discipline performance
- Critiquing and improving the project design process
- Plan and facilitate the relevant design reviews, such as HAZOP, cGMP Compliance, EHS, etc. and any other design verifications processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

- Competent technical knowledge of API pharmaceutical plants and processes
- Proven experience in (leading engineering teams) in large capital investment projects
- Being able to coordinate and resolve conflicts in design and execution between team discipline leads and suppliers, contractors, etc.
- Knowledge of cGMP requirements
- Knowledge of piping design for pharmaceutical plants
- Basic knowledge of all disciplines: civil, mechanical, building services, E&I and Automation

- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving a high level of accuracy and quality
- Ability to quickly familiarize with the facilities, (shutdown) scope and key personnel
- Good attention to detail and accuracy - good analytical skills
- Knowledge of English, Dutch or German language, written and spoken.
