Project Engineer

A leading engineering firm is currently seeking a mechanical designer to design and conduct calculations for a variety of systems found in a Hygienic manufacturing facility. Candidates must have an AS or Technologist degree and at least 3+ years of design experience for a food, pharmaceutical or other hygienic manufacturing facility. This position is slated to begin as a contract and go direct and is located in the Champaign, IL area. Our client is only seeking local talent or candidates willing to relocate themselves.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop material handling design, layout, and system development. Drawings and technical design, development of plan and elevation drawings, and equipment specifications.
- Develop design and drawings for operator platforms, plant design, equipment, packaging, and material handling systems.
- Develop designs in compliance with cGMP hygienic requirements.
- Conduct field walk downs, field measurements and manual sketching equpiment locations, packaging equipment, and process P&ID's.

REQUIREMENTS

- Basic understanding on the packaging line design process and equipment.
- Associates or Technologist Degree
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required and experience with MicroStation is preferred.
- Prior experience with P&ID development and walkdowns.
- Prior design experience in a cGMP hygienic facility is required.
