Project Engineer

Are you an experienced Project Engineer seeking a new opportunity? An exciting contract has arisen to join the decommissioning project based at Traws. The successful candidate will be a Project Engineer with a mechanical engineering bias with the ablility to manage a number of work packages to enable the site's ILW Store to enter Commissioned Operational Service and allow for the entry in Care & Maintenance in 2016.

The ILW store is currently in Commissioned Operational Service for ILW packages stores within concrete 3m3 overpacks only. The next phase is to complete active commissioning of 1803 Drum Stillages. Once all overpacks and stillages are loaded into the store, it will enter Routine Operational Service. A dedicated Engineering resource will be required in the period up to entry into Routine Operational Service. This Project Engineer will support the current plan to complete active commissioning of 1803 Drum Stillages and load the store. This work will involve preparation of commissioning documentation and then supporting the satisfactory completion of all commissioning activities. The role also requires a significant amount of work to prepare the Store for the Site's entry into Care & Maintenance in 2016. This work will include. developing strategies for environmental monitoring. developing package inspection programmes. developing C & M Structural and Maintenance Instructions. supporting the design and installation of C & M supporting systems such as intruder detection, UPS supplies, permanent power supplies, provision of plugs and sockets and remote connection of alarms.
