Project Accountant / Manager

To manage the provision of a comprehensive finance support service to meet the needs of a business unit or the significant part of a major business unit, providing effective leadership to team members and contributing to the strategic direction of the area assigned.

*Provide a finance consultancy service which improves understanding and which enhances overall business performance, participating as an effective member of the business unit team.

*Contribute to the development of financial strategy and ensure the co-ordination / delivery of effective financial, interpretation and guidance, enabling customer groups to asses the financial implications of their decisions.

*Specify the requirements for financial models to ensure that effective financial analysis takes place for all customer groups within scope of control.

*Co-ordinate the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process, influencing and ensuring customer groups are aware of their overall financial performance and are advised of variance from agreed targets.

*Ensure that all material produced by team members or supplied by other finance units meets the needs of the customer groups, formulating short-term plans for changes to information requirements as necessary.

*Control the definition of user requirements and direct the live implementation of computer systems, ensuring these support operational efficiency and provide data to meet the changing needs of the business.

*Interpret external market developments, statutory regulations and internal Group requirements, ensuring effective policies and procedures are developed to meet these needs and to support the achievement of business unit objectives.

*Manage projects affecting own function, defining plans and resource requirements and ensuring deliverables are achieved within the required time, cost and quality parameters and participate in projects for the business unit supported, evaluating financial risks and recommending solutions which meet business goals whilst minimising the Bank's liabilities.

*Manage, motivate, develop and appraise team members as required, so that their individual and collective performance meets the current and future needs of the business undertaking the recruitment process when required.
