Project Accountant

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT - SPEND REPORTS, JOURNALS, REFORECASTING, BUDGET SETTING, VARIANCE AND DATA INVESTIGATION

A Project Accountant with Spend Reports, Journals, Reforecasting, Budget Setting, Variance and Data Investigation is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Lincolnshire.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client's team within the role of Project Accountant. Reporting into the Finance Manager the ideal candidate will be responsible for the provision of financial support and information to the contract value streams. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing monthly reporting performance and variance reporting, provide support and challenge during reforecasting and budget setting activities, supporting business reviews, month end activities and ensuring that robust, relevant and adequate financial controls are in place.

OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT ACCOUNTANT CONTRACT ROLE

The Project Accountant role involves supporting the Senior Accountants working on our client's project.

ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Producing monthly spend reports
- Monthly journals
- Supporting reforecasting and budget setting activities as well as variance or data investigation and analysis.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role.

The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following:

- Supply contract value streams reports and challenge all submissions.
- Production of variance reports
- Contract month end reporting
- Assist with quarterly CSR challenges and production
- Timely production of Spend reports, and actualisation reports
- Completion of project monthly journals

- Microsoft Office PowerPoint - Good

The role is based in Lincolnshire - commutable from Lincoln, Sleaford, Boston, Skegness, Spilsby and Horncastle.
