Programmer and Technical Writer

Our client is the world's leading computer components manufacturer seeking a PROGRAMMER/TECH WRITER to work on the following: This team produces technical documentation to aid customers to design Servers based on the client processor line. Documentation is being moved to DITA/XML and the team wants more ways to automate the process. For example, today we copy large tabular data from an Excel file into a FrameMaker or XML table. We want to programmatically extract the data from a database and into the XML or FrameMaker file directly instead. This needs strong programming experience in Python and/or Java, some writing experience and preferably someone introduced to the DITA configuration manager.

Daily Responsibilities: Write scripts to aid in automating technical documentation. Prefer a candidate with some technical writing/editing background to occasionally review documents for legal, trademark, and English.
