Programme Manager - Bristol - £450 per day

large government client is looking to secure the services of a Programme Manager on a 6 months contract.

As a minimum the post holder should have:

* Relevant experience in IT delivery, preferably in a multi vendor environment
* Excellent communication skills including an ability to establish a strong rapport, communicate and influence at all levels
* Relevant experience of communicating effectively with Board Level Management on a regular basis
* Proven track record in judgement and decision making
* The ability to translate and deliver the benefits of IT delivered enablement into tangible business benefits in a summarised and succinct manner in both verbal and written form
* The ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the often disparate members of the Programme teams
* Proven experience in managing teams and proactively identifying and rectifying performance issues
* Demonstrable knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
* Sufficient seniority and credibility to counsel and influence internal and external resources
* Experience in simultaneously managing various projects of varying size and budget
* The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
* Solid knowledge of project management approaches
* Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures

Experience and skills needed:

* Excellent Interpersonal and diplomacy skills with the ability to confidentially interact at all levels within the organisation and external contacts.
* Evidence of successful programme delivery in a public sector environment
* Matrix management experience in a programme environment
* Evidence of successful delivery employing strong programme management disciplines
* Very strong verbal communications skills to be able to converse with both technical and non-technical contacts.
* Good written communication skills with strong attention to detail including document preparation, presentation and review.
* Experienced background in IT and understanding of solutions design / Enterprise Architecture.
* Evidence of successful contract negotiation with a range of IT suppliers.
