OUTSOURCE UK LTD is actively seeking to recruit a Programme Manager for a contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The purpose of the Programme Manager role is to deliver a major avionics based project involving a number of different, new and existing, technologies with a high degree of integration and or complexity. The project is for a new customer and market and involves new and emerging technologies along with significant product development. The project is of strategic importance to the business. In this role the Programme Manager will have a multi-disciplinary team of major work-package and project managers reporting to them. The role will involve liaison with all other business functions and international partners to achieve the programme and future business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
The successful Programme Manager candidate will be responsible for the following:
Overall management of the Programme to time, cost and quality requirements ensuring that project and wider business success criteria are generated, understood by the team and delivered
Provide team leadership, including personal development, for the project team in accordance with the company's cultural value set
Engaging with and influencing other internal business functions to ensure support for project objectives and participation in project management community activities across different business segments in support of organisational learning
Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements
Application of sound risk and opportunity management principles
Customer and subcontractor relationship management, including reporting and commercial negotiation
Provide Internal business reporting by written reports and presentation up to UK and parent group board level
Participate as a project manager designate in key or business critical bids

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
Will need to lead cross functional virtual teams. Must build strong working relationships in order to maximise contribution of others to get things done.
Strong people/team leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Agree objectives, give feedback, and manage performance and absence issues. Use team members' skills effectively.
Market and customer orientation and ability to develop business
The role will involve significant customer interaction, at all levels. The job holder will be required to leverage this interaction to identify and grow business opportunities.
