Programme Manager

BACKGROUND

Our Central Government client is looking to take on a Programme Manager to work an 11 month contract based in Bristol.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Programme Manager responsible for the lead of an Equipment Procurement project that is currently running. You will be required to manage the approvals process, to develop and maintain tight schedule management, to develop (in conjunction with commercial staff) the required documentation for Invitation for Tender and to oversee risk, assumption and financial management.

KEY DELIVERABLES
The project is safety critical and is one of the highest profile projects within the department. The post holder will be required to coordinate briefings for staff up to 4* level, often with rapid timescales. In addition, the post holder will be required to manage expectation of senior staff, carefully navigating between senior pressure and available, robust information. The project must be a success first time and delivered in the shortest possible timescales. As such, risk management and overall programme management must be sound and post holder experience of programme management in a high pressure environment must be high.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
* A background in UK Defence Procurement is beneficial
* Experience in working in a high pressured Engineering (electronic or technical) environment
* Qualifications in Project/Programme management are beneficial
