My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in Warwickshire, is looking to recruit a Programme Leader for Human Factors to join their Vehicle Engineering division on a long-term contract basis.

Position Description:
Initially as maternity leave cover, this role is based in the Design Studio at our clients Research and Development facility in Warwickshire, as part of an expanding Human Factors team. Programme Leader for Human Factors/Ergonomics related Attributes.
Working from concept through to vehicle launch for specific vehicle programmes via development & validation. Taking responsibility for development of all customer focussed Human Factors related aspects (Human Machine Interface, Accommodation and Usability). Developing & setting targets, developing the vehicle concept with Design, Marketing and Engineering, evaluating and developing Vehicle design via Market research, User trial and Expert evaluation. Ensuring adherence to relevant Standards, leading problem resolution and validating delivery throughout the vehicle design & development process. Reporting status using formal documentation and representing Human Factors/Ergonomics Attributes for the programme team.

Key Skills Required:
Sound understanding of good Human Factors and Ergonomic design principles for Occupant Package and User Interface.
Ability to coordinate and run user trials to gather objective data to support Business decision making and detail design.
Competitor research/benchmarking (physical & web-based) and Quality data analysis.

Experience Required:
Statistical analysis, problem solving & root-cause analysis including idea generation and issue resolution.
Clear and concise communicator.
Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to short timescales & deadlines.
Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions.
Educated to degree level in a related discipline (Human Factors, Ergonomics, Product Design, Applied Psychology, Engineering)

Experience Preferred:
Human Factors/Ergonomics role within Vehicle design environment.
Awareness of product development process including Design for Manufacture Familiarity with Premium automotive sector, products and features.
Higher qualification in related discipline (eg MSc/PhD Human Factors, Ergonomics, Applied Psychology, Product Design).

Additional Information:
This role is based at Gaydon, but may require some working at Whitley.
