Our client is a British multinational energy and utility company. They are an industry leader in electricity transmission and energy distribution with a customer base in the millions.

They are now looking to recruit a Programme Assurance Planner to be based in Castle Donington on a 12 month contract. The successful candidate will work with the Programme Manager and team to provide and maintain high level baseline plan for the Delivery Unit portfolio of works which includes projects in there early stages of development prior to Delivery Vehicle allocation and projects in delivery and close stages.

To prepare periodic analysis and reports for the portfolio including earned value management data, project performance data, risks and issues, critical resource analysis, spend forecasting, outage and benchmarking data. To ensure these reports are reviewed with the delivery teams to ensure the data is robust and that agreed corrective action is documented.

*Primavera (P6) scheduling
*People management
*Programme & Change Management
*Commercial acumen
*Effective communication skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations to small and large audiences. This includes the ability to collate information from a wide variety of
contributors, challenge and review where necessary to produce an overall credible story
*Strong negotiating and influencing skills
*Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
*Track record of developing working relationships quickly and effectively

Technical/Role Specific Competencies:

*Programme Management skills to a high level.
*Experienced in Earned Value Management and productivity data collection and analysis.
*Experience of presenting detailed schedules, programmes and reports in a senior management forum
*Strong experience of management within a commercial project management framework.
*Must be able to interpret outputs from planning tools, ideally a strong user
*Knowledge of Primavera P6 (v8) and MS Office Suite is desirable. HV Electrical background ideal but general construction background would be acceptable.
*Full driving licence (and car) and willingness to travel within a pre-determined geographic area is essential.
*Excellent communications skills and ability to quickly develop effective working relationships.
*Must be capable of working effectively within a team.
*Able to undertake project reviews with alliance project managers to provide assurance that projects will
be delivered safely to time and cost
*Represent UK Construction at meetings with Alliances identifying programme issues
*Competent chair of meetings. Feels comfortable challenging and capable of listening and understanding
complex answers around programme management
*Capable of and willing to support and undertake day to day tasks..

*Programme and Project Controls Manager - strategic direction for Programme function
*Workbook Planning Manager - leadership and direction of Planning function
*Outage Planners - sharing of best practice
*Senior Project Managers - coordination and reporting of project data
*Lead Project Managers - coordination and reporting of project data
*Project Engineers - coordination of project data
*Delivery Vehicle planning and project controls teams - collation, exchange and review of project data
*Capital Delivery Project Controls and Business Planning teams - collation, exchange and review of project data
*Contractors - collation, exchange and review of project data

Key Tasks:

*Build programmes from first principles using an agreed work breakdown structure and utilising all other required codes, milestones and layouts.
*Develop, agree and maintain a high level portfolio plan for all schemes in your allocated portfolio. Track progress against the agreed baseline and capture issues and risks and ensure these are appropriately reported and discussed. Prepare the required programme dashboards, project dashboards and reports.
*Assist with the development of programme management governance arrangements including undertaking monthly analysis of delivery performance, project reviews and report preparation for a range of interested parties and levels within the organisation.
*Assist with the development of improvements to planning and project controls methodologies and processes. This it to include the implementation of new ways of working as required from the Head of Project Controls and team.
*Ensure aspects of the project risk register and any agreed changes are tracked and built into the project plans as appropriate and ensure Outage Plans are captured on portfolio schedule and changes are tracked.
*Coordinate the efficient development, design, and delivery of a portfolio of projects in accordance with Business Procedures, ensuring that all schemes can be delivered accounting for SHES, financial, programme, deliverability and resource management
