Programme Assurance Manager - NHS

Role: Programme Assurance Manager - NHS
Location: Leeds or London with frequent travel
Duration: Initial 3 months

We have an urgent requirement for a Programme Assurance Manager to support the delivery of a programme plan to:
- Increase health visiting capacity by 4200 FTE;
- Transform the profession (model of health visiting service); and
- Transition the service to local government from 2015.

You will also be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date health visitor programme risk register to include corresponding mitigating action and to clearly articulate responsible owners of actions, in addition to providing robust external and internal assurance for the health visiting programme, including responsibility for all report commissions relating to the programme.

* Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this to the health visiting programme.
* Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations
* Capable of maintaining oversight of a wide range of project components, with the ability to identify at an early stage any risk to delivery, to ensure that mitigating actions are instituted at an early stage and internal and external assurance provided as required.
* Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate on highly complex matters and difficult situations
* Ability to provide and receive, convey and present highly complex, sensitive and/or contentious information to large groups, responding openly to questions to ensure full understanding and engagement
* Ability to communicate effectively with clinical, academic and all levels of staff
