Professional Analytics Software Engineer

For our pharma client in Basel we are looking for several

PROFESSIONAL ANALYTICS SOFTWARE ENGINEERS

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implement signal processing and data analysis pipelines for processing large amounts of sensor data collected in clinical trials according to best coding practice
- Modularize existing signal processing and data analysis pipelines to enable reuse of pipelines across clinical trials by a large team of scientists
- Documentation of code used in pipelines

MUST HAVES:

- 5+ years professional software development experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related technical fields
- Deep knowledge of Python and one or more of the following programming languages: Java, C/C++, R and Matlab
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores
- Experience in or eagerness to build ETL (extract, transform, load) data pipelines
- Previous working experience with the common Python data analysis stack (eg NumPy/SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc)
- Ability to write standards-compliant database related code for MongoDB and MySQL
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux internals and workload management systems (SLURM, SGE or UGE)
- Strong working knowledge of best coding practices (versioning, TDD, debugging)
- Familiar with the Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira, BitBucket, Bamboo)
- Strong analytical skills combined with conceptual thinking and structured working style
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team
- Fluent in English

NICE TO HAVES:
+++ Project-based work experience in the pharmaceutical industry/consulting preferred
++ Experience with signal processing
+ One additional language (German is a plus)

START DATE: 01.10.2018 (LATEST 15.10.)
DURATION: 31.12.2019 POSSIBLE EXTENSION
LOCATION: BASEL
