Production Support Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a PRODUCTION SUPPORT ENGINEER to join our Client in Champagne, IL.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- This person will coordinate the handling of all types of production issues. Production support will also support Usage processing, Billing, End of Day, and Transmissions.
- Investigation for the failure and issue, follow-up with all groups needed & communicating all issues to management
- Monitor daily activities to ensure that batch production runs smoothly and service level agreements are met, including Usage processing, Billing issues and rejects and all End Of Day failures and issues
- Automate any manual work performed using Shell/Perl script Embedded with Oracle queries
- Create and maintain new scripts for handling priority issues
- Handle special projects as needed which will involve Unix Shell Scripting with Embedded Oracle SQLs

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- A minimum of a Bachelor degree required, preferably in a Computer Science related field
- Two (2) plus years of experience working in a Unix and Oracle environment
- Two (2) plus years of experience writing Unix Shell Scripts with Embedded Oracle SQL statements
- Knowledge of Perl and ASP a plus, along with experience in the telecommunications industry
