An exciting 6 month opportunity has arisen at one of the world's leading industrial companies, for a Production Planner and Materials Planner to support that business through a key strategic project.

Reporting into the UK Production Planning Manager, your role will be to manage a dedicated portfolio of products, both finished goods and raw materials. You will be required to balance the availability of stock against required service levels and physical and economic constraints of supply units.

Key activities include:

- Generating plans for products produced both internally and externally to satisfy demand for customers in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
- Providing medium term views of the supply/demand balance for use in planning and sourcing decision making.
- Building relationships with key suppliers, site managers, planners, schedulers and sales and marketing teams.
- Working with planning and related functions to identify and implement continuous improvement to planning processes and systems.

Person Specification:

- The successful candidate will have proven production planning or goods purchase planning experience and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
- The systems used are SAP, Excel and Access, so proficiency in these systems, especially SAP would be highly beneficial.
- Required skills include: customer liaison, interpretation and analysis of data to develop recommendations, the ability to react quickly to resolve time sensitive problems, computerised planning system experience, stock management theory and practice, knowledge of planning for retail or food supply.
