Product Manager

A leading blue chip investment bank has a requirement for a Product Manager in the Life and Protection function; the role falls within the insurance department and requires a strong Product Manager to help with extra workload in the department. The role consists of a direct reporting line into the Senior Product manager and requires the successful candidate to provide support and manage the integrity, promotion, maintenance and development of new and existing L&P products within the range manufactured or sourced by the client.

The role has particular focus on supporting the design, delivery and management of L to that extent the role holder will:

- Support the design of L&P products to meet the requirements of CVM.
- Support the production of In Depth Product Reviews.
- Manage the delivery of initiatives to improve customer experience.
- Support the management of the components of insurance risk (retention, expenses, claims, underwriting) that impact the companies Life (UK) protection products.
- Analyse customer satisfaction measures (including complaints) to understand where product improvements can be made.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the legislation, technical issues and market developments impacting protection market and understand the impact on customers and the products managed by the team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

- The essence of the role is to provide essential support to the Senior Product & Team Manager - Life & Protection to manage the protection products manufactured by companies Life (UK) Ltd. and protection products sourced from 3rd Party providers.
- This role will support the development and maintenance of new and existing L&P products, including products sourced by the company. This will include monitoring: retention, profitability, customer service, reinsurance, underwriting and claims, completing In Depth Product Reviews and new and on-going technical requirements for the product range.
- This role will support the delivery of compliant literature, customer correspondence and systems developments and outputs.
- The jobholder will be required to influence key stakeholders, sometimes in situations which could be perceived negatively. This will require the jobholder to have a good technical understanding of the protection market so they can use fact, judgment and diplomacy together with a strong commercial focus and strong communication and negotiation skills.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

- 5 -10 years of insurance and banking experience, with exposure to product management.
- Solid experience in bancassurance product development experience.
- Sound knowledge of insurance business, distribution channels, product development cycle and processes.
- Good problem solving, good negotiation skills,organisational, team working and communication skills are required to be successful in this position.
