Product Manager

An experienced Product Manager is urgently required by an industry-leading defence company to identify define product vision to maximise sales opportunities with new and existing companies.

You will use your excellent technical knowledge along with a proven background in sales and marketing to balance investment, customer needs, competitive situation, regulations and technical advancements to deliver a winning product.

Please note you must be eligible for SC clearance to qualify for this role. Current clearance would be seen as a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities will include:

- Liaising with current and potential customers to ensure their needs are clearly understood
- Definition of product vision, detailed requirements, and roadmap.
- Working closely with the Business-area lead, engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure successful product availability and revenue achievement.
- Ensuring developed/delivered product meets market needs and quality expectations. Integrating into development teams to ensure customers' needs are represented within the engineering function.
- Preparation and implementation of product business cases, including target costs, prices, quantities, reinvestment and timescales.

You will have:

- Experience in a product management/marketing or customer-facing engineering or project management role.
- An understanding of marketing issues.
- Ideally, experience covering different functional areas including technical, projects, products, sales and marketing. Experience of product requirements gathering and life cycle management.
- The ability to make judgements about customer benefit of different technical features and the commercial impact of incorporating them.
- A familiarity with product certification issues and requirements.
- A strong emphasis on creativity and the generation of ideas.
