Product Design Engineer - Solidworks

Roc Search's Client is currently recruiting for a Product Design Engineer in Basingstoke for an initial 6 month contract.

Typically they expect their design engineers to spend ~20% of their time using CAD for design development (SolidWorks), and the rest of the time you could be preparing FMEAs, writing/reviewing test procedures and reports, interpreting FEA results, communicating with and presenting to our customers, reviewing specifications, representing Design Engineering in internal reviews, managing risks, selecting materials, analysing weight and performance, releasing BOMs and drawings (drafting support is provided), etc.

This role is not heavy on the use of CAD, but its use is essential. Ultimately the aerospace design engineers are required to take ownership for the units allocated to them from concept through to production.

Essential Skills:
Product Design experience within an Aerospace organisation.
Solidworks Experience
Experience preparing FMEAs
Experience writing/reviewing test procedures and reports
Customer/communication skills
