Product Design Engineer

Design Engineer with strong ProE and experience designing structural / architectural products. You will design and develop new and modified products that are production ready. Must have a minimum of and AS degree and be proficient in Pro-E & AutoCAD. Experience with structural stress / load analysis is strongly preferred. Immediate direct or temp to direct position in the Waterbury area of CT.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design and develop new product designs and documentation using ProE and Autocad software
- Analyze and solve engineering design problems yielding robust product solutions that consistently meet the defined dimensional and functional criteria
- Coordinate and manage prototype development of new designs including ordering parts, assisting in building prototypes and develop testing to assure proper functioning of the design
- Manage the document release process within the Engineering department
- Support the creation of tools, fixtures, manufacturing cells and other deliverables necessary to produce the product and components to specification
- Create and continuously improve engineering specifications for existing products and components that fulfill customer wants/needs and are capable of being reproduced reliably

REQUIREMENTS

- Associate's degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, or the equivalent experience, higher level preferred
- 5-7 years of demonstrated mechanical engineering/product development experience. Any experience in a consumer products manufacturing environment is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in Pro Engineer (Wildfire). Must also have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and be proficient with MS Office and MS Project
- Experience with stress/load analysis is strongly preferred
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, and be team oriented with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
