Role Overview:

The STG Business Support Office (STG BSO) Product Control team is responsible for understanding and controlling the structured trading business by substantiating the completeness, accuracy and validity of all business related corporate data. This will include completion of reconciled monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and MIS for senior management.

Overall Goal:

* Ensuring trades are accounted for correctly under US GAAP and IFRS seeking guidance where required from management, Financial Accounting and from the Accounting Policy Group team
* Ensuring trades are valued correctly, including liaising with Structuring, Trading and VRG as appropriate
* Performing month-end and quarter-end production tasks, which include Account Ownership, Book Management, Legal Entity and Regulatory Reporting and Accounting Policy implementation.

Core Tasks:

Month-end: P&L valiudation including FOBO reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items, Valuations and Analysis, Journal Entry. Also, Account Ownership, Book Management, FX hedging analysis, implementation of Accounting Policy and Legal Entity Reporting. Control reporting including escalation of issues, liaison with Auditors, Incident Reporting.

New Business: Contribute to due diligence assessment and implementation of new trades through the New business process including book management, system set up and testing, and collation of deliverables as part of the sign off process. Working closely with other teams across PC, FO, Operations, MO and IT. Preparing Structured Trade Reviews (STR's) for executed new business projects.

Projects & Ad-hoc: Active involvement in change management, specifically the reduction of manual journals and processes, increasing straight through process control and reducing operational risk. Book rationalization for dormant trades. UAT for any centrally run project initiatives that impact the STG BSO.

Working closely with Financial Accounting in various regions to ensure that books and records are complete and accurate.

Knowledge & Skills:

* Strong first university degree, preferably in a relevant subject
* Qualified Accountant
* Understanding of the relevant concepts of technical accounting (USGAAP/IFRS).
* Product knowledge across a range of financial instruments.
* Ability to manage time effectively & efficiently.
* Strong written and verbal communication with an ability to explain complex subjects in a simple way and at various levels of the organisation.
* Ability to develop strong networks and working relationships across the organisation.
* Good problem solving/issue resolution skills.
* Good practical IT. skills, particularly Excel and Word.
