Procurement Specialist Job

PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Rochester, NY.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Purchases materials, equipment, supplies, services and commodity products.
- Evaluates bids, and selects and recommends suppliers.
- Negotiates price, delivery, quality and service. Follows up on all awards through completion of order.
- Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
- Evaluates suppliers and rates them as to production capability, performance and delivery. Performs financial analyses for purchasing. Forecasts requirements, issues periodic reports on trends, and negotiates pricing, discounts and contract.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- SIX (6) PLUS YEARS WITH BS/BA (BACHELORS)
- 10 PLUS YEARS WITH TWO (2) YEARS POST-SECONDARY/AA-AS DEGREE
- 14 PLUS YEARS WITH NO DEGREE
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
- Strong understanding of Procurement
- Strong understanding of MRP systems
- Must have good analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast pace environment
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and integrating ways to decrease inventory from a purchasing perspective
