Naval Buyer - Procurement Specialist

Our client, a leading British Defence and Aerospace company is looking for a Buyer with SAP experience to work within the Naval Division of our client. The role will involve managing work queues, unsourced parts and implement strategic sourcing as well as co-ordinating supplier relationships and strategies.

Core Duties
Manage work queues, unsourced parts and implement strategic sourcing
Co-ordinate supplier relationships and strategies
Explore cost reduction initiatives and co-ordinate with other departments ie
Quality, Engineering, Logistics
Using SAP issue RFQ's and issue Purchase orders/Schedule Agreements
Manage supplier relationships
Provide smart customer solutions and demonstrate costs are fair and reasonable using the appropriate procurement cost control tools
Support supplier negotiations during order winning and project execution phases with the final sourcing recommendation based on total Quality, Cost and Delivery
Manage supplier selection process involving Engineering and Project teams when required
Responsible for Supplier Delivery Performance

Required Skills
Previous experience as a Buyer within Engineering/Manufacturing environment
Must have strong SAP Experience
