Procurement Specialist

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST TO SUPPORT STRATEGIC PROCUREMENT ACTIVITIES FOR A MAJOR TELECOMMUNICATION PROJECT.

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Responsible for managing end to end procurements for a major Telecommunication project from Tender/bid response to implementation of projects across Oman.
- Evaluate, select and manage vendors across multiple categories (Services, Equipment, Software etc)
- Work with Project Managers in project implementation/rollout.
- Negotiate pricing and complex service/support contracts with local and international vendors
- Drive annual productivity improvements in each spend category
- Measure and track supplier performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact
- Establishe metrics used to track vendor performance and proactively monitors strategy implementation and contract compliance along with the corporate Strategic Supplier Program
- Measure internal satisfaction with vendor performance through supplier scorecarding
- Monitor marketplace and staying abreast of new suppliers and service offerings
- Manage Supplier compliance with government regulations and company standards and policies
- Take advantage of available training and educational resources to improve functional skills and knowledge

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5-7 year's experience preferred
- Strong contracting knowledge
- Direct Procurement experience in Telecommunication projects preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with internal customers
- Successful, multi-year track record in a procurement organization or management position
- Specific commodity experience desired but not critical
- Proven experience leading RFPs to successful and timely outcomes in reducing costs and improving service quality
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - able to construct/execute multiple complex analyses
- Good time management, project planning and management skills
- Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Good written and verbal skills
- Ability to lead and work with interdepartmental teams
- Ability to multitask and coordinate time sensitive duties
