Procurement Specialist

Government client requires a Procurement Specialist in the Bristol area, willingness to travel across UK with some overnight stays possible when necessary Essential requirements: OJEU (open procedures), GPS frameworks, supplier management and performance management, managing stakeholders (internal/external), Public Sector Procurement Desirable skills: IT procurement, G Cloud (Cloud store), Central Gov Be in a team of 5 IT Procurement specialists 6 months initial contract To manage the tendering process with potential suppliers, ensuring that adheres to the appropriate legal standards and best practices which apply to the entire spectrum of purchasing and contracting activities with third parties. Maintaining awareness of legal (national and international), departmental and Governmental policy and regulations

SKILLS REQUIRED
Experience equivalent to CIPS Foundation Level 4 if qualification not held Direct experience of managing the tendering process for public sector IT contracts Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of current national and international legal standards in regard to purchasing and contracting in the public sector A substantial record of successfully delivering project results Sound and wide business knowledge of current and emerging purchasing practices Sound and wide business knowledge of current and emerging information and communications technologies Good attention to detail and good interpersonal skills Sound organisational and time management skills Experienced user of MS Word and Excel 1. Ensures complies with legal, legislative and Government purchasing requirements 2. Advises on policy and procedures. 3. Manages the tendering processes for contract extension up to and including the evaluation and acceptance processes. 4. Develops and maintains excellent relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders throughout the tendering processes. 5. Uses knowledge of supplier markets to inform specifications.
