Energy client is looking for a Procurement Specialist/Buyer with 5+ years of experience for a 12+ month contract assignment in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience with the procurement of materials & services for a Utility. Our client is only looking for candidates that are local or within commuting distance to Newark, New Jersey. Rate is negotiable based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Main responsibility will be to execute purchasing transactions for goods and services
- Assist with printing & issuing purchase orders thru SAP
- Purchasing non-complex, low volume materials and services
- Completing change orders to outline agreements and purchase orders
- Purchasing off of existing outline agreements
- Creating and maintaining contract files
- Completing new vendor request forms
- Evaluating supplier viability and sustainability using D&B reports

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years of procurement experience supporting industrial construction, utility, or industrial maintenance operations
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Specific experience purchasing materials and services is needed
- Local to Newark, NJ or surrounding areas and able to travel (with mileage reimbursement) to Northern and Southern New Jersey
- Bachelors degree a PLUS
- Proficient with MS Excel and Word
