Procurement Officer/SC Cleared

SC Cleared Procurement Officer needed for a 12 month initial term contract based in Southampton.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Experience in IT/computing procurement.
- Data literate with strong analytical skills
- Motivated with a proven record of achieving targets/objectives
- Flexible approach
- Ability to plan, prioritise and schedule work to achieve multiple, often conflicting, deadlines
- Good decision-making ability to help achievement of goals and objectives of the organisation.
- Proven communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
- Ability to take ownership of procurement initiatives
- Customer facing experience

DESIRED SKILLS:

- LEAN Management skills
- Category Management Skills

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Source and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organisation
- Analyses of statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives
- Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes
- Confer with suppliers, customers and analyses of suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules
- Experience in preparing bid packages
