Procurement Manager

A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Procurement Manager to work in the South West UK on an 6 month contract (+ multiple extensions) starting as soon as possible. Reporting to the Senior Offshore Project Procurement Manager, the Procurement Manager will take responsibility for the successful procurement of all aspects of a large construction contract for a major offshore wind farm project in accordance with Group/Company/Project procurement policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Determine the 'best-fit' strategies for obtaining commodities and services for projects.
Ensure appropriate goods and services are available to the projects at the right cost, quality and time. Manage supply interfaces to minimise risk.
Lead high-value, strategic one-off' purchases via formal tender enquiries. Individual values up to +£100m.
Management of the procurement process including supply chain communications, contract strategy documents, tender negotiations, contract award recommendations.
Apply the highest levels of Procurement Governance to all Procurement transactions.
Ensure compliance to Corporate and Project Procurement procedures to ensure compliant auditable trail.
Positively influence peers to ensure compliance with procurement strategy, policy and process.
Influence key suppliers so that the client gains preferred customer status.
Minimise supply risk in a demand-rich market.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience in the field of offshore construction/marine/infrastructure projects
Experience in construction and plant/equipment procurement activities
Proven capability/skills in complex negotiations and deal closing
Experience of working within a project team
Experience of using LOGIC form of contract
Expected to hold relevant nationally accredited procurement qualification
Ability to influence and manage across multiple international cultures
